ETSU baseball trounced by Tennessee

The University of Tennessee returned the favor to East Tennessee State University in the first-ever Smoky Mountain Challenge in Sevierville, Tennessee..

Just over two weeks ago, the Bucs smashed the Volunteers 10-2 at Thomas Stadium in Johnson City, Tennessee. This time, ETSU was sent packing with an 8-1 loss.

Tennessee started the game off with a run in the first and second inning and held ETSU scoreless. ETSU pulled within one run at the top of the fifth inning on an RBI single from shortstop Chris Cook. But Tennessee scored six unanswered runs to close out the game.

The Bucs were limited to five hits for the game.

The Bucs fell to 19-20 on the season. They return to conference play against the Wofford Terriers for a 3 game home series this weekend. The first game of the series will be April 28 at 6:30 p.m.
