ETSU overcame a slow start against Mercer in the quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
The Bucs fell down by as many as 13 points in the first half inside U.S. Cellular Center. But they found a way to comeback, led by guard Desonta Bradford and forward Tevin Glass.
Bradford stuffed the stat sheet to lead the Bucs to the tournament semifinals. The junior has 21 points, 5 rebounds and tacked on 3 assists. Glass helped lead the way with 15 points, 4 rebounds and swatted away 3 shots.
The Bucs comeback was aided by a Mercer shooting slump, where they didn’t make a field goal in a 10:30 span.
The win sealed ETSU’s third victory over Mercer this season.
ETSU will face Samford in the semifinals. ETSU has defeated Samford two times this season, but it wasn’t easy. The first matchup went into double overtime, and ETSU needed a game winner in the final 10 seconds to win the second game.
The game will take place Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the U.S. Cellular Center.
