ETSU will go into their Southern Conference semifinal matchup with Samford as 7.5 point favorites.
ETSU is coming off a victory over Mercer and Samford defeated co-regular season conference champion Furman in the quartefinals.
ETSU is the 3 seed in the Southern Conference Tournament and Samford is the 7 seed. However, these two teams last two games against each other have come down to the wire. ETSU won both matchups, the first a double overtime thriller at Samford and then a come from behind victory at home.
Samford’s forward Wyatt Walker missed the last game against the Bucs, but will be a starter in the semifinals. Walker is averaging 12.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game this season. He had 15 points and 12 rebounds against Furman on Saturday.
Look for ETSU to limit the turnovers and get guard TJ Cromer involved. Cromer only had 1 point at halftime against Mercer, and finished the game with only 10.
The game starts at 7 p.m. Sunday inside the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
The winner will take on either University of North Carolina- Greensboro or Wofford.
